About the event
The Blues Society of Western PA (BSWPA) is a nonprofit that promotes and preserves the Blues genre of music. We, as a group, have also chosen to provide musical opportunities to young people in our community. BSWPA asks that if you are in need to enable/enhance your music programs, please get in touch. We will consider school projects, after school programs, workshops, etc.
What we offer: Assembly presentations to talk about the Blues, its history, its impact. We also have many players who are skilled at creating music workshops for guitar, harmonica, drums and keyboards. We also have implemented a very successful and rewarding song writing series. The BSWPA’s projects are geared to incorporate history, journalism and the cultural aspects surrounding the music. BSWPA's objective is to ignite a spark/flame to encourage young people to enjoy playing music as an outlet and bringing them together in a positive way.
We will try accommodate all age groups depending on your needs. Please submit your request to our web address, webmaster@bswpa.org and include your location, contact name and number, your target age group and your musical needs/expectations for consideration.
The BSWPA is also seeking donations of new or gently used instruments and equipment. Many young people are waiting for our help to make musical opportunities a happening thing. Make arrangements for your donations by contacting us at webmaster@bswpa.org.
